The Fourteenth Annual WinterFest Visual and Performing Arts Festival will be December 5–7 at Juanita K. Hammons Hall, on the campus of Missouri State University. WinterFest combines the performing arts, central to the mission of the Hall, with the talents of the region’s best visual artists – in a three-day festival that provides a unique opportunity for all of the arts to “take center stage”. Artists are selected by jurors to participate in this top-quality show, held in the spectacular multi-level lobby of Hammons Hall.

WINTERFEST
You will find an amazing variety of beautiful artwork on display and for sale at the Hall’s annual WinterFest celebration – with great gift ideas for everyone on your holiday shopping list! You can also enjoy beautiful seasonal music from local performers, featured on the Promenade balcony stage throughout the festival, and join us in the theatre for ticketed performances on Friday and Saturday nights, or for the Missouri State University music department’s free community concert, “Sounds of Christmas”, on Sunday afternoon.
BÉLA FLECK AND THE FLECKTONES
December 5, 2008
Friday, 8pm
This year, we welcome Béla Fleck and the Flecktones back to the Hall as our WinterFest opening night concert. This amazing and eclectic quartet has recently released their first holiday album – and the “traditional” songs of Christmas and the winter season will take on a whole new sound as played by these funky master musicians! Béla and his group will be joined by the Alash Ensemble.
JIM BRICKMAN HOLIDAY CONCERT
December 6, 2008
Saturday, 8pm
Popular pianist/songwriter Jim Brickman once again returns for WinterFest weekend – with a concert that includes his own seasonal music and signature romantic ballads, plus special guests, and the warm and wonderful stories that make a Brickman concert such a delight any season of the year!
Tickets for BÉLA FLECK and JIM BRICKMAN will be on sale when the Hall’s season brochure becomes available (tentatively mid-August).
