MiXt is a versatile, dynamic, and vibrant chamber group under the artistic leadership of Jose Franch-Ballester, featuring award-winning soloists on the Young Concert Artists roster. Performing in a variety of configurations, the trio consists of clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester, pianist Ran Dank, and violinist Benjamin Beilman. These dazzling soloists and accomplished chamber musicians of diverse backgrounds inspire audiences with engaging programs. This season, MiXt made its New York Debut at Merkin Hall in the Summis Auspiciis Concert, and its Washington, DC debut at the Kennedy Center, both in the Young Concert Artists Series. MiXt holds the Helen F. Whitaker Chamber Music Chair of YCA.
Spanish clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester is in great demand as a soloist and chamber musician with orchestras, in recital, and at music festivals around the world. His is the founder of “Jose Franch-Ballester I amicsd (and friends)”, a new festival in Moncofa, Spain, his hometown. Mr. Franch-Ballester is a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music.
Israeli pianist Ran Dank is a laureate of the Naumburg Piano Competition and the Sydney International Piano Competition. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University, his Master’s degree from the Juilliard School, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York as a chancellor’s fellow.
American violinist Benjamin Beilman received both an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a London Music Masters Award in 2012. He has appeared in the United States and around the world in recital and as a soloist with orchestras. Mr. Beilman performs frequently with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center as a new member of their CMS Two roster.
