Featuring the beloved characters of Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow, and Harold Arlen’s classic songs – “Over the Rainbow”, “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” and “If I Only Had A Brain,” – THE WIZARD OF OZ will have the entire family captivated as they travel down the yellow brick road for an unforgettable evening at the theater.
Introduction to the Performance (45 minutes prior to curtain): Joey Williams, Choreographer/Pilates Instructor
Springfield Little Theatre’s Young Artists troupe will perform the roles of “munchkins” while this beloved classic is live on stage at Hammons Hall! The National Tour of THE WIZARD OF OZ and its producer, NETworks Presentations, LLC sponsors this continuing arts education initiative - an opportunity that will provide the Young Artists troupe with real-life touring theatre experience. They will discover what it’s like to be part of a professional company, learn choreography by Leigh Constantine and be outfitted in the costume designs of Tim McQuillen-Wright. It’s truly a unique experience, and an incredible opportunity for aspiring young actors/actresses to follow their yellow brick road!
The talented young people who will perform in the Hammons Hall engagement are Abbey Belt, Lydia Biamonte, Evy Bills, Allie Carder, Madison Carroll, Maridan Chaney, Ruth Anne Chaney, Sarah Cummings, Olivia Henderson, Hannah Hunt, Katie Beth Nichols, and Olivia Tyson.
