Named the 2012 Momentum Awards Band of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association, Monroeville are truly stars in the making.
At the band’s core is a belief that good music knows no boundaries. They seamlessly flow through a range of musical styles, embracing a crossover sound between progressive bluegrass and acoustic country, and catching the attention of music lovers on both sides of the tracks. Although they are a young band, Monroeville’s members have reached significant career milestones – four of the young men are Grammy® -nominated artists, one is a prolific songwriter for several industry artists, and four have won national instrumental competitions. Their debut EP, Monroeville, was released on the newly-created Monroeville Records label in May 2011, and their first music video – “Pot of Gold", written by Chris Stapleton – was released at the Hard Rock AcoustiCana Series in Nashville on September 29, 2011.
Opening for the band will be Americana roots duo Songs of the Fall. Singer songwriters Stetson Adkisson and Cia Cherryholmes have teamed up to create music in a pure form, uncluttered with electronics or overproduction. With guitar and banjo as the instrument mainstays, their unique sound blends raw and soulful with poignant and sincere.
