BROADWAY BENEFITS OUR COMMUNITY

Thus far this season, Presale opportunities for our Broadway opening show, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, have contributed $1320 to the Breast Care Fund at CoxHealth Foundation.

This means that the “Broadway Benefits Our Community” outreach, which began during the 2009-2010 season, has donated almost $24,000 to worthy causes in Springfield  – including Ozarks Food Harvest, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, the Discovery Center of Springfield, Ronald McDonald House, and Habitat for Humanity  – enabling Broadway touring companies to give back to the community that welcomes and supports their performances. In most cases, the donations come from a designated portion of Presale ticket revenue – a win-win situation which not only benefits the local charities, but also increases early ticket sales for the shows. We plan to continue these efforts whenever possible for future Broadway touring productions. Keep watching our website, tune in to Broadway season media underwriters KOLR10, Ozarks Local KOZL and KTXR-The Gentle Giant, and look in the Springfield News-Leader for information about upcoming Broadway Presale offers and the charities they benefit.

 Young Frankenstein Check Presentation

Laura Bowles, representing the Breast Care Fund at CoxHealth Foundation, accepts a Presale donation check from Hammons Hall Executive Director Randy Blackwood at the opening night of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.
